Media and Personal Appearances
Journey Home
Finally, things have calmed down from my trip to Alabama. I was blessed to be a guest on The Journey Home program August 6th. It was my first appearance on the program and I was very impressed, not only by the quality people at EWTN,
but especially with the host of the program, Marcus Grodi, who did an outstanding job.
Marcus and I have known each other for a number of years. We both share a deep interest in the Faith and how God brings people into the Church. Shortly after the release of Why Catholic Bibles Are Bigger, Marcus and Jim Anderson invited me to come down to the studio to talk about the Deuterocanon on the program. Both Jim and Marcus are converts
to the Faith and they both know the importance of the question of the canon is for Catholic/Protestant dialogue.
Marcus Grodi and I after the program
Judging from the response to the program, it appears that we are not alone. I'm very thankful for opportunity to share what I've discovered on the program. Over the past few weeks, I have taken a closer look at the mission and work of the Coming Home Network and I am very impressed. Please keep the CHN in your prayers and help support
them. They are doing a great work in the Church.
Those who frequent this website may already know Rod Bennett. A little while ago we participated in a conference in Westphalia, Michigan. Since the area was very rural, we thought that maybe 200 people would show up and 250 people would have been outstanding. It turned out that about 800 people showed up and packed the gym in Westphalia. Rod and the other speakers didn't
let the audience down (free mp3s of these talks are found on the HOA's Resources Page).
Rod Bennett and Thomas Nash
Later, I asked Rod to fine tune the manuscript for Why Catholic Bibles Are Bigger so that the text would be more reader-friendly. Rod did an outstanding job. It was great to see Rod and his son again and catch up on things.
Thomas Nash is an old friend from Michigan. After the show, we exchanged books and I was impressed with his book Worthy is the Lamb . I highly recommend Thomas' book for anyone who wishes to have a deeper understanding of the biblical underpinnings of the Mass as well as Rod's book Four Witnesses for those who wishes to see how Catholic the early Church Fathers really are.
I cannot neglect to mention two other good friends of mine who made my trip a delight, John Martignoni and John Manos. There is never a dull moment when you're around either of these two gentlemen. Thanks guys taking the time to show me around and sharing a quick
meal or two. I'm am truly a blessed man for knowing all these wonderful people.
